The Garden Flat Barcelona

Bestial in Spanish translates roughly as "cool".

And the name gives you a good heads up on this trendy bar- a minimalist fashionista venue near the Barcelona waterfront, very close to the famous Frank Gehry copper fish sculpture. (Just by the Hotel Arts near the twin towers: Port Olimpico).

Bestial Bar is a big, lofty multi-floor space with a great sea-view terrace to hang out on and is a great place to sip a cocktail and while your way into the evening shift. A funky crowd if a little precious on the fashion front (but you'd expect that), but a friendly atmosphere, and the foods pretty good too. (Mediterranean food with a leaning towards Italy).

Although this is quite a way away from the rest of the Barcelona scene which tends to be in Eixample or the Born, this is well worth a visit for the beach terrace alone. Anyway, its very easy to get a taxi back from just outside the Hotel Arts and Barcelona taxis are good value. €5 and 5 minutes later you'll be back in the thick of it.
