The Garden Flat Barcelona

El Bosc de las Fades is Catalan for "The Fairy Wood' - a name that has more to do with the whacky decor rather than the clientele. It's famously relaxed and inclusive in here.

It's worth a visit if you are looking for something a bit different- the bar is done up as a forest stuffed full of fairy tale figures like dwarfs, mermaids and waterfalls. Anything further from a bland chain bar such as All Bar One you will not find, I guarantee you.

The bar is owned by the wax museum (Museo de Cera)- but don't let that put you off. This place is great fun and a superb choice to kick off the evening, though you probably won't want to spend all night here (actually, you might after a few copas).

You can relax in small hideaways and peer over at the incomers. A mixed crowd and good value. Don't blame us if you start popping into the garden centre to get some gnomes when you get back home.
