La Concha
La Concha is a must if you are looking for something a bit different. It was opened in 1982 as a homage to the actress Sara Montiel. (Spanish singer and actress, born 1928 and probably the first global latin mega star.)
Pretty close to Margarita Blue, La Concha is pretty close to the bottom end of Las Ramblas.
The closest description would be bohemian Moroccan kitsch (you see we are struggling to pidgeon hole this one!): you won't to find a bar like La Concha anywhere else on the planet: one part of the bar becomes a tiny dance floor at the weekend- not only is the scene here very special (and unique to Barcelona we would say), it's also very close to alot of great bars in the Barri Gotic (Old Quarter) and not so far from The Born where things really kick off.
