Here are some of the comments that we have had either by email or in our visitor’s book which is on the sideboard as you come in. There are also archived comments from 2009-2013 which we hope will prove that we have been welcoming people to Barcelona for some time now!
If you do come and stay with us, please leave some feedback with suggestions in the book (or send them by email, or add them to our Facebook page or mention us on Twitter @gardenflatbcn) so that we can keep on improving the apartment. And please pass on any of your favourite places in the city if you have time so that we can pass the information onto our other guests.
We are also building up a Guide to Barcelona on the site from all of the restaurants, parks and museums that our guests recommend (which has been great for us too, as we have discovered a few new places that we didn’t know about so thanks for that!) Rachel & Gideon.
Go to ‘La Luna’ you won´t regret it. Sandcastle building supplies in basket. If you are looking for nice shoes try Lottuse. Loved our stay here, very clean, comfortable, all the comforts of home right in the center of a nice neighbourhood in Barcelona.
We had a wonderful stay in the Garden Flat. Everything you could ask for is here, which makes it so easy for travelling with a toddler. Our little 2 year old has loved the toy collection, and the long hallway was also a hit.
We have been to Barcelona quite a few times but this flat is definitely the we have had an a fab location.
Thanks so much Rachel for all your help and understanding.
Linda, thank you for your suggestions and kindness you set a wonderful tone on our arrival. We loved your positive attitude! Rachel your home is beautiful and will play a major part of the memories we have of our Barcelona experience. The wine put is in a festive mood! Life is meant to be enjoyed and we did that with much success during our week long stay. Thank you, gracias, danke, salamat, in any language we share our deepest appreciation!
Great place to relax and explore the sights of Barcelona before heading back down under. Forced our kids to walk up to Tibidabo, which was well worth the views. They would have loved the amusement park but it’s not open Jan/Feb. The boys loved Camp Nou and the ice skating next door to the stadium was good fun. Such a refreshing change to be surrounded by stone architecture. Love the tiles in the apartment too!

What a lovely week in a beautiful city! We enjoyed our time here, all the delicious food and wine and awe inspiring architecture.
Sagrada Familia and a walk through the city park were our favourite city sights. We enjoyed daily and nightly walks along Rambla de Catalunya.
Our son loved the toys and books. We loved having a glass of wine in the galeria and garden. Fantastic vacation. Thank you!

Thank you for the wonderful accomodation. We have had a fun time in the city.
There are so many great bard and restaurants. Restaurant Margarita does great pizza, the bar as you turn right out of the flat, opposite Por Sant, does a great G&T and we even found a good Indian [try Bembi].
Heading home to diet!

We have enjoyed a fabulous few days in this amazing city. The flat ticked all the boxes – great accomodation for two couples and such a convenient location.
We’ve walked – a lot! – but found the taxi’s a reliable and good value alternative to sore feet. Blown away by the Sagrada Familia but also enjoyed just strolling around and people watching while enjoying a (frequent)bar stop. Favourite eateries were Cerveseria Catalana (be prepared for a long wait but it’s worth it) and Taller de Tapas. Also found a small place in Carrer d’Enric Granados – Crep Barcelona which was also good.
Didn’t fit it averything we wanted to , but it gives us an excuse to return!

We had a wonderful stay at your flat. Great location, easy access to Metro. A word of advice, if you go to Park Guell, get a bus!! and very child friendly.

A very happy discovery. We enjoyed the flat and the location. Had great meals at El Glop, Cerveseria Catalana and great coffee and pastry at Crusto in Valencia. [I will have to try Crusto- haven´t been there- looks good! - Gideon]. Recommend booking museums etc online where possible with smartphone or tablet and avoid the museums which are free on Sundays unless you don´t mind a very long queue!
Thanks for helping us feel at home in Barcelona, we have had a wonderful week.

The Garden Flat has been a superb base from which to explore this majestic city and region. The children found the beach in Barcelona, or more specifically the sea, somewhat polluted and acidic to the eyes/throat…better bathing and swimming in Sitges (south – train from P. de Gracia) and Calella (north – train from P de Catalunya). Other than that the only tip is ENJOY IT ALL! We ate well at La Fonda (Escudellers) and Attic (La Ramblas) when not eating here.
I bought the book Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruis Zafon with me.
It has been intriguing and immersing to read a book based in Barcelona whilst staying here. Although the book is based in the 1930s-50s, it is haunting to walk around the city and recognise so many of the settings: Passeig de Gracia, Plaça Sant Felip Neri in the Barri Gotic, Els Quatre Gats, Pl. de Catalunya, Montjuic, Las Ramblas and Balmes itself. So thankyou Rachel, Lynda and Barcelona- a wonderful week.

We had a wonderful stay in the garden flat. The apartment is clean, light and airy and facilities are excellent! Far better than any hotel!! Many thanks to Lynda for letting us in late, the night we arrived as our flight was delayed. We really enjoyed our trip to the CosmoCaixa Science Museum which is only 6 stops away on the L7 metroline on Mount Tibidabo [16 minutes by train and walking]. Again, thannks a million.

Quiet place- and very convenient! Thankyou for the clean place to sleep and touch down. Very nice for the three/two days we were here. Love Barcelona and the local area surrounding this place. We will recommend to all our friends and family coming to Barcelona!
This week was definitely one to remember. We had a lovely time in the apartment. We’re glad we came to stay! Thank you! ☀

For 3 weeks, this was home away from home! It was homebase while we worked & traveled around Europe during the week, but on weekends, arriving here gave us the feeling of familiarity you get when you arrive home. Luca loved all the toys & I´ll cherish the memories of watching him pull the toy fish around the long halls. i hope he remembers that as part of his childhood. Thanks to Lynda for her help & companionship to Nelson, and thanks for all the great recommendations (the toy store and organic market were great finds!)
Thanks for your hospitality!

We had a really great start to the New Year in Barcelona! The apartment is very comfortable and roomy – and convenient to the city centre. We very much appreciated the facilities offered by the flat- not least the two bathrooms and two living areas (for six people) and the nice garden – very pleasant to look at, but too cold to sit in [well, it was January- you will need to come back in June!- Rachel].
Fortunately the weather was kind to us, allowing us to go for long walks, shopping for food and bargain clothes. We really liked the tapas at Catalana [3 minutes walking], one block down and on the corner of Las Ramblas [Rambla de Catalunya]. We took the gray line hop on hop off city tour, and visited Sagrada Familia (of course) and the Park Guell and the Guell Palace - at the foot of La Rambla- and the truly spectacular food market further up La Rambla on the left hand side [Boqueria Market 10 minutes - train & walking].
