If you are flying into Barcelona, chances are that you’ll be coming into Barcelona El Prat airport (12km southwest of Barcelona) or into Girona which is 80 km to the north of the city.
From Barcelona Airport (El Prat).
The A1 Aerobus comes right into Plaça Catalunya in the city centre. From here you can either get a cab or take the FCG train up to Provença (one stop- the flat is 2 minutes walk away).
A taxi from the airport is around €20-30.
You can also take a train from the airport into Passeig de Gracia. This is about a 5 to 10 minute walk away- doable if you have a wheelie suitcase.
How to Prounounce the Directions!
(There´s nothing worse than a blank look from the taxi driver).
If you take a cab, ask for Balmes y Provença (pronounced "Bal-Mays ee Proven-sa) which is in Eixample (pronounced "eh-sham-plah"). They should drop you off on the corner just up from the flat.
All flights have connecting buses to Barcelona city centre. Just buy your ticket from the ‘Barcelona Bus’ ticket counter near the baggage reclaim, get on the bus and you’ll be there in around an hour and 15 minutes. The bus will drop you off at Estacio del Nord bus station where you can continue your onward journey by metro or taxi (see above).
If you are coming in by train, then you want to head to the central Barcelona station: Passeig de Gracia.
If you are driving in, head in to the centre of town and aim to travel west along Calle Provença from Passeig de Gracia. There is a car park on Calle Provença between Rambla de Catalunya and Calle Balmes which is 2 minutes from the flat.
